Food is always great here, tried several items on the menu and it never disappoints. The kids plates are always devoured by my kids. The kids Mac n cheese is always a good fan favorite. We are a family of 5 so whenever we go here we have to pay 20% gratuity, which is fine we have kids and usually go with friends or family which makes us a large party. Sometimes the service isn't the best considering we pay 20% but honestly the food and drinks always hit the spot so we really don't mind. Definitely a great spot to enjoy food and drinks with family and friends.

Solid food, wide beverage selection and friendly staff will greet you at Thirst Barrel Taphouse & Grille. I stopped by late on a Saturday afternoon (2:15 or so) and it was rather full! There is a semi-outside area, bar and some tables inside with a host stand at the door. Funky but contemporary design reminded me of tin shack sheik. Everyone is super friendly and service-oriented while being direct and down to earth. Bartender was quick to pick up on my needs. Food was good, I had a BLT. Lettuce was crisp, bread nicely toasted and sour, good tomatoes and lots of bacon. I should have requested it extra crispy, as I found the bacon too floppy for my taste. Fries were plentiful and crispy. Wasn't too pricey but not inexpensive, I didn't have anything to drink. Next time you are in Grass Valley, take a detour off the main street for a bite and drink at the Thirsty Barrel.

Amazing! First off, Lexi is the best waitress in the world! She helped me pick my beer and was so fun to work with. The food was stellar! I had a fried artichoke sandwich! The chef who came up with this is genius! The truffle fries-I could not stop eating the huge pile. We got lucky with our choice for dinner. Can't wait to go back

Walked right up around lunch time and got a table. The food was alright, I think next time I would try the wings. They looked good! Lots of TVs in the front room to watch sports, and quiet in the back which is nice for families or date night. Lots of beers on tap, too.

Great food, great sports bar, and great times right in the heart of Downtown Grass Valley! I can't recommend this place enough for travelers and locals alike! Even though I live in Sparks NV, I am in Grass Valley once or twice a month, and I will try my best to make it back here every chance I get. I had the pleasure of visiting during a great Florida Panthers vs Boston Bruins playoff game, and they were happy to sit us next to a tv that was playing the game. There was a bit of a wait for the patio area, but we waited less than the time they estimated, so no complaints! The patio was very enjoyable, and there were dogs, kids, and smiling faces all around. Great ambiance. The Korean sandwich was delicious. It will be hard for me to order something else next time but I will try my best. I forget what everyone else in my party ordered, but they all enjoyed it immensely. I will definitely return with more friends, more family, and more doggos!

Ambiance: I didn't go inside so I can't comment there, but I can confirm that the enclosed outdoor patio is lovely. All dark wood with a nice breeze coming through the open windows. Barstool type wooden chairs and metal chairs with backs. If you have a bad back you might want to bring your seat cushion along. Dogs are allowed there. I saw a few while I was there. It's clearly a hub for dog lovers. Beer: Great selection of beer. Their beer menu does not include prices or oz so don't be afraid to ask how much they cost and how big of a pour they are. Don't make the mistake I did. I assumed they were all a pint and I was a little bummed to get a 10oz when I ordered the kombucha. Tacos: Tacos were delicious, and were stuffed very full. I appreciated how much food was with each one. Be careful eating them as they only have 1 tortilla on each and I totally massacred my shrimp taco on accident. Still so delicious though so I'm happy. Artichoke Sandwich: super delicious and I highly recommend it. The artichokes along with the grilled onion were to die for. Service: Service was prompt and everyone we encountered was really polite. We did have to wait a little over 15 minutes for a table but that just goes to show how popular they are on a Friday night. I loved everything about the place and I'll definitely be going back.

Wow I haven't been here for a while but I am regretting that becuase today I was absolutely blown away! I ordered the glorious guava which was a perfect sour to pair with my shrimp tacos and Caesar salad. It was perfectly fruit forward and not too sour. I love that the Caesar salad can be ordered as a small side salad. Their Caesar dressing is very yummy and I loved the addition of crispy capers! 8/10. The shrimp tacos blew me away. I mean, look at the photo. They're everything I've ever wanted a shrimp taco to be. They featured the most succulent shrimp, micro cilantro, pickled onions, jalapeño corn pepper salsa, and a yummy cilantro lime sauce. They were the perfect mix of juicy, crunchy, acidic, sweet, and a little spicy. They were PERFECT! 10/10.
